An exhibition dedicated to Ivan Marchuk, one of Ukraine’s most distinguished contemporary artists, will open on 18 October 2026 at the Old Town Hall in Linz, Austria. Titled Blick in die Unendlichkeit (Look into Infinity), the exhibition offers visitors an opportunity to explore Marchuk’s distinctive artistic vision and immerse themselves in his extraordinary visual world.

Internationally recognised for his innovative approach to painting, Ivan Marchuk has developed a unique visual language that transcends conventional artistic boundaries. His signature technique, known as Plyontanism, is characterised by intricate, interwoven lines of paint that create remarkable textures, depth and luminosity.

Marchuk’s artistic universe encompasses a wide range of themes, from the beauty and complexity of nature to profound reflections on human existence and the universe. His works invite viewers to look beyond the visible, discover new dimensions of perception and contemplate the relationship between the individual and infinity.

The exhibition in Linz provides an opportunity for Austrian and international audiences to experience the richness of Marchuk’s artistic legacy and discover the expressive power of Ukrainian art within the broader European cultural landscape.

The exhibition is organised by TUKA – Lesja Ukrainka, the Association of Ukrainian Culture in Austria, in cooperation with the City of Linz, the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine and the Kyiv Organisation of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine. The Ivan Marchuk Non-Profit Private Foundation supports the presentation.
